Bond University, Australia’s first not-for-profit private university, is located 8 kilometers south of Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast / Queensland in the up-and-coming suburb of Robina. Bond University was founded by Alan Bond in 1987 and welcomed its first cohort of students in May of 1989. Since then Bond University has established itself as one of Australia’s leading universities.
Bond University offers both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Law, Health Science and Medicine, Sustainable Development, Humanities and Social Sciences, Business, and Information Technology. The picturesque campus also features a student college, known as Bond College, which offers English language programs and university foundation programs. The Bond University English language institute, known as BUELI, offers courses for studying English for a range of different purposes including General English, Business English, IELTS preparation courses, Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE) courses, and English for Academic Purposes.
Bond differs from other Australian universities as it schedules three semesters per year commencing in January, May and September. This allows Bond students to complete their degrees in a shorter period of time than students of other universities without increasing semester workloads. This fast track enables students to graduate within a shorter period of time in order to begin their careers earlier.
In recent years, Bond University has been awarded more five-star ratings across ten key performance indicators of the Good Universities Guide than any other Australian university. Some of the key performance indicators include:
The Bond experience is truly exclusive and its environment is a unique combination of Australian and international influences. In fact, nearly half of the multicultural student body is made up of international overseas students. Varsity Towers, the closest off campus student accommodation facility to Bond University, is located less than 400 metres from the campus. The building offers its residents a choice of over 300 self contained fully furnished, studio apartments, one bedroom apartments, two bedroom apartments and a limited number of three bedroom apartments. While the complex caters to students from all education providers, Bond University students make up over 90% of the building’s residents.
